Vermont Business Magazine The Community Bank is proud to be the Presenting Sponsor of the 2022 Lake Champlain Dragon Boat Festival for the fourth consecutive year. Established in 2006, this team-based charity event raises funds to support local cancer survivors.
Since its inception 16 years ago, the Lake Champlain Dragon Boat Festival has raised and donated over $1 million to benefit cancer survivors in the community. All funds raised at this year’s event will go to support Dragonheart Vermont, a nonprofit breast cancer wellness organization, and its pledge partner, the Cancer Patient Support Foundation (CPSF). Donations will be directed to the Emergency Fund, CPSF’s largest program that provides financial support to local cancer patients and their families while they undergo treatment.
“We are thrilled to be the presenting sponsor of this year’s Lake Champlain Dragon Boat Festival for the fourth year in a row,” said Erinn Perry, Community Bank Public Relations and Community Relations Manager. “This is an incredible event and we are thrilled to be able to help our community raise funds for our local cancer survivors.”
“We are thrilled to partner with our friends at Community Bank, where their commitment to supporting local causes enables our organization to reach those who matter most – our loved ones affected by cancer,” said Festival Director, Nina Atkinson. “This year, we especially celebrate the lives of dear members who recently passed away. It is for them that we work hard every day of the year and commemorate them and our entire community on the day of the festival.
Festival day events will include dragon boat races, music and dance performances, and a post-race awards ceremony. Spectators will enjoy on-site food and drink vendors, raffles and a photo booth, in addition to races, dancing and musical entertainment. The festival is scheduled to take place on August 7, 2022.
